So many questions from a newbie

Hi,

so, first of all - I have zero experience with fractals, electric sheep or anything like this.

But - I saw some youtube video, and figured it could be pretty cool. On your site, I saw some previous, and they all were rather short, but perfectly loopable - is this how all of these "sheep" look like?

Next - I'm on Linux Kubuntu, recent version. There is no "electricsheep", but there is "flam3" package/program. Installed it but it didn't add itself to screensavers, and I couldn't really figure out how to use it.

I saw some information that I can have app on android/iphone, but it requires a lot of bandwidth - do I understand correctly that it downloads pre-generated videos (lots of them probably) to display?

How can I have my computer generate the videos, preferably in higher resolution?

I'm prefectly fine with answeer being link to some docs, but the things I found so far were seriously outdated, or said things like "don't use flam3, it's command line tool, hard, use graphical things". but didn't name anything I could use.

Thanks for any help.

the android app downloads just a few megabytes per day, much like the screensaver, and it has been specially optimized so it does not drain your battery. that's probably the easiest way to get going.

on kubuntu, unfortunately the linux version is hard to compile, but it might work for you: github.com/scottdraves/electricsheep
