The History of Chicago Baseball Shirts

Chicago is home to two Major League Baseball teams: the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago White Sox.

Both teams have a rich history and a loyal fanbase, with their iconic shirts playing a significant role in their legacies. Let's take a look at the history of Chicago Cubs Shirts.

Chicago Cubs:

The Cubs have been a part of Chicago's sports culture since the team's founding in 1870. The team's first uniforms were made of heavy wool and featured long sleeves, button-down fronts, and a distinctive blue and white pinstripe pattern.

In the early 1900s, the team adopted the classic "C" logo, which is still used today, and began experimenting with new shirt designs, including the famous blue and red "away" shirts that feature the Cubs' iconic bear logo.

In the 1930s and 1940s, the Cubs introduced a new shirt design that featured a royal blue colour and a distinctive white "C" logo with a bear inside.

This design was used for several decades until the team switched to a lighter blue colour in the 1980s.

Today, the Cubs' shirts continue to evolve, with new designs and colours being introduced each season.
