These MEMS single mode switches are designed to be easily integrated into optical systems. The highly reliable MEMS technology is characterized by a long lifetime, high reliability, and high durability (max 3 x 109 cycles), making these suitable for use as OEM components. The switch is packaged to allow easy mounting onto PCB boards.Get more news about mems optical switch ,you can vist our website!

Our MEMS switches are available at six wavelength ranges (480 - 650 nm, 600 - 800 nm, 750 - 950 nm, 800 - 1000 nm, 970 - 1170 nm, or 1280 - 1625 nm) and feature low insertion losses of <0.7 dB (except OSW12-488-SM: < 2 dB at 488 nm) . The switches are non-latching and are offered as either components or as integrated systems on an evaluation board. The switches include a drive circuit requiring 5 V DC, which could be provided by the Thorlabs power supply LDS5. The OSW12 Optical Switch Kits are shipped with a power supply.

MEMS-based switches offer high reliability that passed well over 10⁹ cycles of switching tests. We offer both 2D and 1D movement MEMS-based switches. The 1D motion MEMS mirror (in or out of the light path) offers low crosstalk or high on/off ratio, fault-safe latching, free space platform. The 2D rotating MEMS mirror offers cost-effectiveness for 1xN, MxN, when N>8.

Photonwares MEMS fiber optical switches use a state-of-the-art configuration in which each mirror only moves within two positions: in or out of the light path, as shown in the enclosed Figure. Our unique digital mirror technology advantageously eliminates the need for software position calibrations associated with conventional analog MEMS, that have long term drift issues. The switches are based on a patented, highly reliable thermal actuation that establishes optical signal paths in milliseconds, eliminating the risk of electrostatic stiction or electric discharge shorting. The switches feature very low latency, intrinsic temperature insensitivity, latching to the positions against vibrations, direct driving, and low cost. The versatile platform accommodates various fibers of SM, PM, and MM. The passive switches support all date rates, ideally suited to manage optical networks intelligently and remotely with extremely low latency.
