Battery: Arriving home at his residence in the 9900 block of North Military Trail, an intoxicated man began acting belligerent, yelling about cocaine and punching himself in the face. Attempting to provoke other roommates into fighting him, the man was told to “chill out” by one of the housemates. This ended up having the opposite effect and the man was attacked. Rolling around on the ground the victim was pummeled, and possibly bitten, in the face. A woman attempting to break up the two men, also fell victim to the intoxicated troublemaker’s oral attack and was bitten on the arm. She was left with a mark that matched the drunken man’s mouth with his missing teeth. He was eventually arrested on two counts of battery and, after a brief visit to the hospital, was taken to jail.

Theft: Filling three stolen recyclable shopping bags with merchandise at a store in the 4200 block of Northlake Boulevard, a man skipped the purchasing portion of the transaction and walked out. Followed by two employees, the man broke into a run and was last seen running toward Northlake Boulevard along an alley. The man stole an estimated $250 worth of merchandise which included cosmetics and several rotisserie chickens.

Theft: Walking into a store in the 1200 block of West Indiantown Road, a man selected a cart and began shopping. Grabbing a box containing six bottles of vodka, the man placed the box in the cart and headed for the exit. Failing the render payment and nearing the exit, he was intercepted by the store manager. Ignoring her, the man began running with the cart as he exited the store. Arriving at a car, he quickly loaded the stolen liquor and hopped into the passenger seat. He was then overheard telling his accomplice/driver “We have to go” and they raced away. The merchandise was worth over $175.
Disorderly intoxication: Asked to leave an establishment in the 1000 block of North Highway A1A, an intoxicated woman began screaming profanity at the business entrance. With no criminal charges against her at that time, she was allowed to walk away. Approximately 30 minutes later, the woman called dispatch and claimed the police had attacked her and that she was hiding from them. She was found lying in the grass a short distance from the establishment, talking on her phone and crying. Though told by an officer that he was there to help her, she responded by throwing her phone at him. She was taken into custody for her own safety and was eventually arrested for disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest without violence.

Battery: Upset over a comment that an individual made besmirching his girlfriend, a man went on the offensive at a residence in the 6100 block of Foster Street. The man instigated a physical altercation. The offender was left with no visible injuries and the defender of honor had two small scratches near his collarbone. Neither party wished to pursue charges and both signed waivers of prosecution.

Theft: A woman loaded nearly $400 worth of merchandise into the cart at a store in the 2100 block of West Indiantown Road. The items included a pillow, comforter set, a blender and a grill. She then pushed the cart past all points of sale and through the exit. The woman then loaded the items in her vehicle before driving off. The entire incident was captured on video surveillance. The surveillance footage was uploaded to the police department.
