Counter-Strike has replaced three generations of gamers

There are not many games in the world, whose life cycle lasted not through years, but after decades. If you do not take into account retro type Super Mario or the first Doom, which are played for nostalgic reasons, the main game-long-lived comes to mind still live Ultima Online 1997. Not much behind her is the eternally young World Of Warcraft, released a few years later. But MMO-universes were created out of the calculation that players will live full lives in them. If we want to name a shooter who has survived several generations and is not obsolete over time, taking in their arenas the battles of millions of players in all three decades of the 21st century, then, of course, it will be Counter-Strike.

Favorite weapons, maps and game mechanics passed from "ancestor" to "descendant." Thanks to this, these days, the 35-year-old man who launched CS:GO after work and his casual 12-year-old teammate, who grew up on mobile gaming, easily find common language and understanding, finding himself together in one of the two familiar locations.
