The Brooklyn Nets possess named Kenny Atkinson because team's new head instructor. Atkinson will become the actual 21st head coach inside franchise's NBA history. Per team policy, terms of the deal just weren't released.
"We are thrilled to announce Kenny Atkinson seeing that our new head coach and welcome him and his / her family to Brooklyn, " said Nets Normal Manager Sean Marks. "Kenny's years of NBA mentoring experience working under successful head coaches for example Mike Budenholzer and Paul D'Antoni have provided him using the NBA MT Coinsfoundation and experience we were searching for in a head mentor. We believe that Kenny's central principles, leadership, communication skills and excellent background in player development make him the perfect fit for the culture i am building in Brooklyn. "
Atkinson currently serves as an assistant coach for the Atlanta Hawks and may continue in this capacity till the conclusion of Atlanta's postseason. With respect to this Hawks and their playoff timetable, a press conference to formally introduce Atkinson is going to be held on a date which has yet to be established.
